For over 90 years, Fresh Hope Communities (FHC) has existed to create spaces that cultivate belonging and places that feel like home. This includes retirement living, residential aged care, respite settings, as well as conference and outdoor adventure experiences for school and community groups, and more recently, affordable housing. FHC has acquired land for future projects.
The portfolio, with revenue over $100m, currently consists of:
Nine retirement communities serving over 400 residents;
Six residential care sites serving over 800 residents, including the award-winning Green Hills Maitland;
Affordable housing: Nightingale Marrickville is an award-winning affordable build to rent housing project collaboration with FHC and Nightingale Housing, comprised of 54 apartments and two commercial tenancies at street level;
Outdoor spaces attended by over 60,000 guests per annum, including The Tops and Greenstead Valley (Tiny Homes Joadja).
FHC is the welfare arm and Public Benevolent Institution entity of the Churches of Christ of NSW and ACT (CCNSW).
The Role
Reporting to the Board, the Chief Executive leads a dedicated team of 1,000 people across Sydney and NSW.
The Chief Executive will be aligned to the mission, values and ethos of FHC and CCNSW and foster a high performing culture where FHC residents and clients are treated with dignity and respect, and quality care that is person-centred.
The role will be accountable for delivering strategic and operational initiatives, balancing the current and future needs and goals of FHC, ensuring sound financial stewardship, effective stakeholder management and compliance with all governance, legal and regulatory requirements within a changing and dynamic industry environment.
The role will lead the development and implementation of FHC strategic initiatives, identifying sustainable growth opportunities and driving innovation working collaboratively with the Board. The role will oversee the optimal allocation of capital and other resources to achieve strategic goals, including the ongoing implementation of the FHC property and asset strategy. With opportunities for property innovation and development across NSW, FHC are seeking a leader that will progress these plans and engage with relevant external stakeholders. They will oversee investment strategies and decisions whilst working closely with a high-performing Executive Leadership Team.
Location
Sydney with regular NSW regional travel. FHC’s support offices are in Rhodes.
The Candidate
The candidate will be strongly aligned to FHC and CCNSW’s mission and values and be able to balance missional thinking with commercial and legal imperatives.
FHC are seeking a candidate with significant experience at the Chief Executive, General Manager, or senior executive level; ideally with prior experience in property development and capital development projects, relevant to retirement living, residential aged care and mixed-use sites. They will have experience in managing strategic and operational funding requirements, optimising business processes, and leading organisational change.
The ideal candidate will be able to keep abreast of industry trends and regulatory requirements in the aged care and retirement living sectors and drive quality service delivery in line with long term viability, financial sustainability and stewardship.
The Chief Executive will foster an inclusive high performing culture that makes a difference to the lives of residents and customers of FHC.
