Part time – approximately 1 day per month
Daily rate up to $2,000 (including superannuation if applicable)
Central Sydney location, with Committee meetings held online
About the role
The Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) is seeking expressions of interest for two new members of its Energy Network Regulation Committee.
The Energy Network Regulation Committee, which is made up of three members, monitors electricity network operators’ compliance with safety and reliability obligations. It also enforces electricity network operators’ licence compliance. For some electricity networks this includes critical infrastructure security and environmental obligations.
About you
To be competitive for this role, you will need to have:
significant knowledge of the operations of energy network businesses or management of similar high reliability services or in a high-risk industry and/or
significant expertise in public safety, emergency risk management, injury prevention or work health and safety regulation and risk reduction.
The following will be highly regarded:
experience as a senior decision maker
knowledge of regulation and regulatory methods
understanding of the interests of consumers and businesses in the energy sector
relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent demonstrated professional experience
an understanding of the machinery of government and regulatory processes.
