Following a seamless integrated campaign, our interim placement CEO Maree Walk will be handing over to our search placement Nicole Jones as the new CEO of Gowrie NSW in January 2019. The words from Gowrie's announcement can be read below:
The Board of Gowrie NSW is delighted to announce the appointment of Nicole Jones as Gowrie NSW’s next Chief Executive Officer.
Currently NSW State Manager at Goodstart Early Learning, Ms Jones has had over 20 years in the Early Childhood Education sector. Her wealth of experience ranges from her early years as an Early Childhood teacher to working in both local and state government and in executive management.
Gowrie NSW Chairperson Tessa Hoser said, “Our Board went through an extensive independent recruitment process in seeking a new CEO and Nicole was a stand-out candidate. She is a great fit for Gowrie NSW – both she and the Board want to build on Gowrie NSW’s rich legacy. She has the skills to take our organisation to the next stage in our development and is a real leader in our sector.”
Ms Jones said she was extremely proud to take on this new role as a passionate advocate for children and families and will strive to embody and fulfil the Gowrie legacy of ensuring children have the best possible start in life.
“I am thrilled to be taking on the role of CEO with an organisation that has such a wonderful history in delivering high quality early learning. I look forward to working with the team as well as children and families in our centres. It’s a great opportunity to work with the Board, executive team, educators and families to continue to make a real difference in the lives of children,” she said.
Continuing to advocate for social reform to benefit the lives of children and their families will be a critical part of Ms Jones’s new role.
Tessa Hoser thanked Maree Walk who has been acting as Interim CEO while the recruitment was underway. “Maree has been a great asset to Gowrie NSW in her time with us. I know she’s also delighted with Nicole’s appointment, and is confident she is leaving Gowrie NSW in good hands.
Nicole Jones will commence as Chief Executive Officer on 29 January 2019. Gowrie NSW will continue to deliver high-quality education and care to children, families and communities throughout the leadership change.
