Fractional HR Manager
Build the first senior People & Culture function for a growing Healthcare Organisation
Trusted advisor at leadership level in a values-led healthcare business
Fractional role with potential to evolve into a permanent position
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a foundational People & Culture role within a well-established, privately owned healthcare organisation at a pivotal moment in its evolution.
With over 40 years of operation, the business has built a strong reputation as a trusted partner to healthcare providers across hospitals, aged care and community settings. As the organisation continues to professionalise and expand its leadership capability, there is a clear need to establish a fit-for-purpose people function from the ground up.
This role is offered on a fractional basis (approximately 2 days per week) and will suit a senior HR leader who enjoys building, shaping and embedding practical people frameworks in a dynamic, growing, hands-on environment.
About the Role
Working on a fractional basis (approximately two days per week), you will:
Build the core people infrastructure from the ground up: onboarding, performance, policies and systems
Support the recruitment and integration of new senior leaders at a critical growth stage
Act as a practical, trusted adviser on employee relations, culture and organisational matters
Implement simple, effective mechanisms to track engagement, performance and team health
Ensure compliance across employment legislation, IR and OHS, without over-complicating
Play a key role in maintaining what works culturally, while helping the business evolve and scale
This is a visible, embedded role: you need to be in the business, building relationships and getting things done.
What You Bring
As a builder and operator, you will bring:
Proven experience setting up or reshaping people functions in SME or privately owned environments
A pragmatic approach, able to design fit-for-purpose solutions without over-engineering
Strong judgement and confidence handling real-world people issues, not just policy frameworks
Comfort working without a playbook, able to create structure where none exists
High emotional intelligence and the ability to build trust quickly across the organisation
Experience supporting businesses through growth, change or increased structure
Healthcare experience is beneficial, but not essential.
Key Considerations
This role is on-site on working day: presence, accessibility and credibility matter
You may work across multiple clients; however, absolute discretion and confidentiality are non-negotiable
You must be comfortable switching between strategy and execution — this is not a purely advisory role
How to Apply
If you are energised by building people capability from the ground up and partnering closely with leadership to shape a growing organisation’s future, we would welcome your interest.
