The Queensland Competition Authority (QCA) is seeking a high calibre Chief Executive Officer to lead a trusted, well regarded economic regulator with a broad and important remit across Queensland.
Reporting to the QCA Board, the CEO will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring the delivery of high quality economic and regulatory advice to government and stakeholders. You will lead a capable executive team, foster a high performance and values driven culture, and maintain strong relationships with government, regulated entities, and the community.
About you
You are a seasoned senior executive or an accomplished leader ready to step into a CEO role. You may come from the public sector, regulatory bodies, or the commercial sector, and will bring a sound understanding of regulatory policy, public sector governance and operating frameworks, with the ability to exercise sound judgement in complex, politically sensitive environments. Experience across sectors such as energy, water or infrastructure is highly regarded.
You will demonstrate:
Proven senior leadership and governance capability
Strong strategic and commercial acumen in regulatory or public policy settings
Exceptional stakeholder and government engagement skills
The ability to assess and translate complex economic and legal advice into clear decisions
A track record of building high performing, collaborative teams
Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Law, Commerce or Accounting are highly regarded.
