Board Opportunities: NSW Energy Security Corporation - Inaugural Chair and Board Members

​The NSW Energy Security Corporation (ESC) is a new NSW statutory corporation with a $1 billion budget with the aim of accelerating private sector investment in clean energy projects in NSW, and to support the state to achieve the targets for reducing net greenhouse gas emissions. The Board of the NSW ESC provides an opportunity for outstanding industry leaders to accelerate private sector investments in clean energy projects that improve the reliability, security and sustainability of electricity supply.

We are looking to create a new board of up to seven members including the Chairperson. NSW Treasury is seeking Expressions of Interest from suitable candidates to be considered for appointment as Chair or Board members.

Potential appointees will be considered against assessment criteria based on industry, technical and governance skills and experiences. The Board must collectively possess complementary skills across risk assessment, regulatory adherence, government relations and legal expertise related to renewable energy and infrastructure development.

We encourage expressions of interests of candidates who demonstrate experience across one or more of the following:

  • Deep understanding and experience in the renewable energy sector, including energy storage.

  • Deep understanding of project finance and investment analysis.

  • Experience in structuring project finance for renewable energy assets.

  • Understanding and experience developing long term portfolio investment strategies.

  • Understand renewable energy project lifecycles, stakeholder engagement and project delivery.

We are seeking a diverse range of candidates to ensure diversity and inclusion, allowing consideration of the broad range of interests reflective of the community. Residing in NSW is preferred.
