The organisational structure of Holmesglen reflects the new competitive and contestable environment of vocational education and training as well as providing a focus for new strategic areas such as business development, higher education, and e-learning. It is a dynamic structure to lead the organisation in the next phase of its exciting journey as a contemporary tertiary education provider. With the tenure of a long term Non-Executive Director soon to expire, Holmesglen is now seeking applications for a suitably qualified person to join the Board commencing January 2021.
About the role
The Board of Holmesglen provides the strategic leadership and governance oversight of the Institute. The Education and Training Reform Act 2006 sets out the functions and accountability of a TAFE Institute Board, and there are additional obligations under The Public Administration Act 2004.
Holmesglen is ideally looking to add the following skills and experience to the Board:
An extensive background in people, culture and organisational development across the full HR spectrum.
Strategic and commercial mindset balanced with a good understanding of public interest and purpose.
Proven ability to engage and build relationships with a broad spectrum of stakeholders at all levels including with government, public and private sectors.
A connection to the communities, social demographics and/or any industries which Holmesglen serves along with an appreciation and empathy for the role of VET and Higher Education would be highly desirable.
Solid executive level commercial experience and current or previous experience as a Non-Executive Director.
Directors must meet the fit and proper persons requirements of the Institute’s regulatory agencies – The Australian Skills Quality Authority, Tertiary Education Standards and Quality Agency and the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority.
An annual Director’s fee is paid in accordance with the Appointment and Remuneration Guidelines issued by the Department of Education and Training Victoria.
