Urban Development

Case Study

Urban Development

The client (Landmark Urban Development Authority)

A newly created development authorit, was charged with responsibility for developing what will be a major CBD development.

The brief

We worked in partnership with the Chairman and the Board to identify and select a Chief Executive Officer. This was a highly commercial role involving a multi billion dollar budget and multiple stakeholders including major property developers, retailers, infrastructure developers and a whole range of advisors and consultants. At the same time candidates needed to have a sound understanding of government processes, governance and probity issues.

Watermark’s solution

We undertook a comprehensive search with a strong focus on private sector candidates and our search was both Australia wide and international. The international component focussed on Australians keen to return home whilst at the same time ensuring that public sector candidates were also considered and evaluated.

The outcome

The successful candidate had strong private sector background supported by a previous background in the public sector. He also had sound international development experience including the marketing of major initiatives into other countries including the UK, Asia and the Middle East.
